The term bauxite Clinker in the refractory industry usually refers to a bauxite with a calcined Al2O3>=48% and a lower Fe2O3 content. The high bauxite clinker is a calcined bauxite. For example, diaspore, monohydralite and trihydrate (Al2O3·3H2O); Some of them are composed of hydrobauxite and kaolinite (2SiO2·Al2O3·2H2O). Some are mainly kaolinite, and with the increase of kaolinite content, composed of general bauxite or kaolinite clay. Bauxite is usually formed by chemical weathering or exogenous action. It seldom has pure minerals and always contains some impurity minerals, more or less clay minerals, iron ores, titanium minerals and detrital heavy minerals.

The definition of bauxite is not uniform enough, which is related to the resource situation and industrial demand of each country. The names vary from period to period, but they are basically the same. In China, it is generally believed that: "Bauxite refers to the ore with high aluminum content (more than 40%), the ratio of aluminum to silicon is greater than 2.5 (A/S≥2.5), and the value less than this is called clay ore or bauxite shale or bauxite". It has the advantages of light weight, high temperature resistance, good thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, small heat capacity and mechanical vibration resistance. Used in steel, non-ferrous metallurgy, electronics, petroleum, chemical industry, aerospace, atomic energy, national defense and other industries. It puts high-aluminum clinker into a high-temperature electric arc furnace with a melting temperature of about 2000-2200℃. After high-temperature melting, high-pressure high-speed air or steam injection, and cooling, it becomes white "cotton"-aluminum silicate Refractory fiber. It can be pressed into fiber blankets, boards or woven into cloth to replace refractory bricks lined with high temperature furnaces in smelting, chemical, glass and other industries.
