Product Description

light weight silica brick

Also known as siliceous insulation brick. Lightweight refractory material with silicon dioxide above 91% and bulk density below 1.2g/cm3. The refractoriness and softening temperature under load are not much different from ordinary silica bricks with the same composition. However, due to the large number of pores, the compressive strength, slag resistance, and corrosion resistance are not as good as ordinary silica bricks, but the thermal shock resistance has been improved. Using finely divided silica as the raw material, the critical particle size is usually no more than 1mm, and the particles smaller than 0.5mm are no less than 90%. It is prepared by adding flammable substances to the ingredients or adopting the gas generation method to form a porous structure and firing. Can also be made into unburnt products. It is mainly used for all parts of the kiln that requires heat insulation or lightening of its own weight without direct contact with the melt, free from corrosive gas, and not subject to sudden temperature changes. It is used at high temperature and cannot be in contact with alkaline refractory materials. According to different materials, the highest operating temperature is 1200～1550℃.

Light silica bricks and heavy silica bricks will go through each stage of the conversion of quartz to cristobalite and tridymite during firing. The following methods can completely transform the quartz, such as adjusting the time of the firing system, uniform lumps, using mineralizers (commonly used oxides Fe2O3 and CaO), or combining with previous methods. Thermal conductivity is an important performance of thermal insulation materials, it shows the thermal insulation performance and bulk density of the material. Lightweight silica brick is a very special material, in fact, it has the potential to be used in only two industrial fields. In most cases, insulating silica bricks and dense silica bricks are used as the insulating part of the structural layer. Commonly used is the heat insulation of the glass kiln, mainly the heat insulation of the kiln vault, so as to reduce heat loss and increase the efficiency of the melting process. Advantages of Lightweight Silica Brick 1. Lightweight silica bricks are incomparable to lightweight clay bricks. Lightweight silica bricks with a porosity of about 50% have a lower thermal conductivity than lightweight clay bricks. 2. The deflection temperature under load is 1620-1640℃, while the light clay brick is only 1200-1300℃, which does not shrink under high temperature. On the contrary, it expands at 1450°C (about <0.2%), and the volume is stable, while the light-weight clay brick shrinks greatly, which is easy to crack the furnace lining. 3. The kiln that can work at a temperature of 1550~1600℃ can be used for a long time; it can be directly built on the hot surface in contact with the furnace gas, and it can also be used on a large-span furnace roof; Use lightweight silica bricks. 4. The use of lightweight silica bricks in the lining of the heating furnace can shorten the heating period and reduce fuel consumption by 35% compared with the use of lightweight clay bricks. The use of lightweight silica bricks on the top of the firing kiln (inverted flame kiln) can prolong the service life of the top.
